As a digital history book on Flash's legacy from just before the turn of the century up to the present day, 2023, this is an e-book which I cannot recommend more highly. It gives a thorough introduction to Flash's history for the burgeoning interested, and also features some interesting facts for those already familiar.
A fair amount of the book [293 pages] is dedicated to an A-Z of some of the most notorious and best-known Flash games, many from the late 2000s, and many are afforded double page spreads. Interspersed between the exstenive 'who's who' of Flash games are also nine couple double-page spreads, each regarding a particular theme, and contain some interesting tidbits as well.
I do find it really touching to see all of these accounts and games come together here ... all from a time of the internet which, as the book says, can never occur again. The era where, 'going viral meant something', where free consumption was encouraged, as is with Flash ... is no more. But, as the book delightfully puts, 2 years now after Flash's depreciation from Adobe, its legacy continues to live on. As is shown in the book that Flash remains an element of game creation even today, Flash did not merely shape the way we use the internet - it shaped the way everyone has perceived the internet. Its legacy will continue to live as long as people celebrate it - and so it is!
An era of free-access is still on the cards for humanity, methinks.

It's quite a comprehensive book, covering the history of web games and all the standout titles.
I may have missed it but I didn't see The Asylum (Psychiatric Clinic for Abused Cuddly Toys) aka Die Anstalt - Psychiatrie für misshandelte Kuscheltiere. It truly is a fantastic game.
Oh, also, Bushgame. Disturbing but fun!
